Italy – Latin America Network
The Italy – Latin America Network project aims to help undergraduate and postgraduate students in Latin America in economic difficulties to complete their studies, encouraging contact between Latin American students and Italian companies interested in investigating issues relating to Latin America. The idea is to agree with the student a research topic for a thesis or PhD that is of interest for the company, which in turn supports the research and can offer the student an internship in the Italian firm’s offices.
The study grants funded by companies may take two different forms:
- financing for market research, industry sector analyses and other studies of interest to the sponsor on the feasibility of corporate strategies in a Latin American country or across the whole continent, to be conducted with the mentoring of an Italian university lecturer;
- prize for a thesis on a topic set by the sponsor to be awarded in Italy or Latin America.
All sponsors receive a report every 3 months on the work done by the student that their contribution is supporting.
The areas involved are: Argentina (Bahia Blanca, Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Cordoba, La Plata, Santa Fe), Brazil (Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Salvador, Sao Paulo), Chile (Concepcion, La Serena, Santiago), Paraguay (Asuncion).
